At Lily Head Dental Practice Sales we often discuss how can we earn the trust of dentists?

We work hard to earn the trust of dental principles who wish to sell their dental practice.  After all, it is a critical milestone in their career.  We work hard to ensure buyers are treated with respect and that the bidding process is open and transparent.

We must earn that trust time and time again.  There is a relatively small amount of repeat business in our industry.

Dentists are in a similar situation.  When, as patients we are in the dentists chair we can often feel quite vulnerable.  Like dentists we also must do a good job time after time.  We are only as good as our last deal or last procedure.

We believe there are a few cornerstones of building trust with a client, prospective client or patient which we want to share to help you understand us better.

  • What does our client think our motives are?
  • Are we really working with our clients to provide a great service and the best deal possible for them?
  • Are our actions transparent so that clients can feel that our actions are totally in support of their needs and requirements?

The risk is that we can come across as having our own agenda.  That our timelines are not in line with our client’s requirements or that our goals are not the same as our clients.

If our clients were to believe we were not aligned with them then any trust they may have is chipped away at.

 Mahatma Gandhi said, “The moment there is suspicion about a person’s motives, everything he (or She) does becomes tainted.”

 Another cornerstone of trust is integrity.  Integrity means there is an alignment between your words and your actions.

Ralph Emerson, an American philosopher and poet said, “What you do speaks so loudly, I cannot hear what you say’.

So, going back to the original question of ‘How can we earn the trust of dentists’?

We only make commitments to clients we truly believe we can live up to.  When we ask questions and listen to the answers.  We work to our client’s timelines.
